What is GS certification?

GS is the abbreviation of German "Gepr ü FTE Sicherheit" (safety certified). GS is a German voluntary safety sign, but it is highly valued by consumers. Many products, including home appliances, lamps, audio and video products, communication products, office equipment, electric tools, electronic toys, electronic measuring instruments and so on, can not be sold in Germany or surrounding areas without GS logo.

GS certification data preparation

1) Fill in the application form;

GS certification process

1) First meeting: our center will explain the specific procedures and relevant standards of certification to the applicant's product engineer, and provide the document forms (application forms, etc.) to be submitted.

2) Application data: the applicant shall submit the documents that meet the requirements. For electrical products, it is necessary to submit the general assembly drawing, electrical schematic diagram, material list, product use or installation instructions, description of differences between series models and other documents.

3) Technical meeting: after the agent or testing agency has checked the applicant's documents, it will arrange a technical meeting with the applicant's technical personnel.

4) Sample test: the test will be carried out in accordance with the applicable standards, and can be carried out in the manufacturer's laboratory or any National Laboratory of the inspection agency.

5) Factory inspection: GS certification requires safety related procedure inspection on the production site.

6) Issue GS certificate.

The normal time is 4-5 weeks, which can be expedited. There is an extra charge for expediting.

GS standard basis

GS certification is a kind of voluntary certification based on the German product safety law and tested according to the European Union unified standard EN or German industrial standard DIN. It is a recognized German safety certification mark in the European market. GS test of electrical products is carried out in accordance with the corresponding safety standards for different products. Most of the test contents are similar to CE / LVD. Some products need to be tested in addition to the safety requirements of Germany, and the requirements are more stringent.

 

GS issuing authority

(1) German certification body: generally, TUV and VDE are well-known GS certification bodies in Germany, which are directly recognized by Germany.

(2) Other certification bodies: generally, other GS certification bodies cooperating with Germany in Europe include its, SGS, Kema, its, Nemko, demko, etc.
